Practical guide

A simple study ritual you can actually repeat

One task, a listening session, and a real break. You do not need a perfect productivity system to begin.

The useful question is not “Which sound will make me smarter?” It is “What helps me sit down and work on the thing I intended?” Here is a small routine to try with neur0tide—or with silence if you prefer it.

1. Choose a finish line you can see

Write down one concrete task: solve three practice problems, draft one section, or review ten flashcards. “Study all afternoon” is harder to start and harder to finish.

2. Make starting boringly simple

Put your phone on Do Not Disturb, open the material you need, and move unrelated tabs out of sight. Connect headphones and choose Focus at a comfortable volume. The audio is an optional companion, not the work itself.

3. Start with a manageable block

Try 25 minutes if you are unsure where to begin. If your task benefits from a longer stretch, experiment with it. Pro offers Classic (25/5), Extended (52/17), and Deep (90/15). These schedules are choices—not prescriptions or proof of a universal biological productivity cycle.

4. Take a break away from the task

When the work block ends, let the sound stop. Stand up, look away from the screen, or get some water. With structured sessions, breaks are silent and you choose when to return by tapping Ready. Classic gives you a longer 20-minute break after four work blocks.

5. Notice what actually happened

Did you begin the task? Did you finish your small target? Was the audio pleasant or distracting? Adjust the next session based on that experience. A feeling of focus is not evidence of better recall; use your normal practice questions or self-testing to check what you learned.

Keep the ritual; skip the hype

Binaural-beat research is mixed. neur0tide has not been shown to improve learning or grades. You can read our evidence notes for context. If silence works better for you, that is a useful result too.

When the day is done, Unwind offers a slower sound for stepping away. It is a wind-down ritual, not a treatment for sleep problems.
