Practical guide

Choose a work/break schedule that fits your task

25, 52 or 90 minutes? Start with the time you can realistically protect—not the number that sounds most impressive.

A work timer is a boundary, not a measure of your ability. In neur0tide Pro, three optional schedules pair Focus audio with silent breaks. None is presented as the best rhythm for every person or task.

Classic: a smaller commitment

Classic pairs 25 minutes of work with a 5-minute break. After four completed work blocks, the break is 20 minutes. Try it when you want a modest starting point, have a short window, or can divide your task into small pieces.

Before starting, name a concrete target: outline one paragraph, attempt a few problems, or review a small set of notes. You can stop earlier if you need to; finishing a timer is not the goal.

Extended: room for a longer task

Extended pairs 52 minutes of work with a 17-minute break. Choose it if you want more uninterrupted time and can protect that time from meetings or other obligations. The unusual numbers are a schedule option, not a guarantee of productivity.

Deep: a long block you choose deliberately

Deep pairs 90 minutes of work with a 15-minute break. Consider it for a task you already know benefits from a long stretch. You do not need to work up to it, and choosing it does not mean you are more focused than someone using a shorter block. It is not a claim that everyone has a fixed 90-minute biological focus cycle.

Make the break a real change

All three schedules stop the Focus audio for the break. Step away from the task if you can. When the break ends, the next work block waits for you to tap Ready; audio does not restart automatically. Optional local reminders can notify you when the break ends if you allow notifications.

Change one thing next time

After a session, ask whether the block was manageable and the break useful. Keep the same schedule or try a different one next time. If the audio distracts you, silence is a valid choice too.

What stays free?

Basic Focus and Unwind listening, including the existing duration choices, stays free. Structured work/break schedules are part of Pro: an explicit seven-day trial, then an optional one-time permanent unlock. There is no subscription, no automatic trial charge and no ads. After the trial, basic listening remains available.
